Quality Blue Light Glasses

Blue light glasses appeared on my radar a few years ago and my immediate thought was, YES, I need these. As a creative spending long days in front of the screen has been my life and while I don’t wear glasses my eyes would burn often at the end of a long day in Illustrator.

In today’s climate many of us are spending more time in front of computers, less in meetings and in
person. Teachers and students especially are transitioning to more screen time, as we work from home, which can be difficult on your eyes.

So what are Blue Light Lenses?
Nearly 70% of American adults experience eye strain, red eyes and even migraines due to prolonged use of digital devices and the exposure to blue light. This can come in the form of looking at your computer, tablet, phone and even tv screen.

Blue Light Lenses offer the best solution to deal with blue light emissions. The lenses filter the blue light emitted by digital screens, providing comfort to your eyes and protection from harmful rays.

If you wear prescription glasses already, chances are this has been an option to add on when you purchased your last pair. But for those of us who don’t wear glasses, you can order non prescription glasses with blue light lenses. Game changer!

When I was looking for my pair for myself I knew I wanted them to be comfortable, light weight and of course really cute! I asked around to a few friends who already wear prescription glasses and they all said quality matters, which I did learn.

My first pair was from Eye Buy Direct. They have an awesome selection of glasses in all styles and colors. Best part is, you can upload a photo of yourself and see what the glasses would look like on your face shape –which was extremely helpful.

They did come in a few different sizes which was difficult to determine having not worn prescription glasses in the past. What I found worked best was measuring my favorite pair of sunglasses to compare the dimensions with.

The style I landed on was a slim classic, tortoise shell frame called the Hepburn. They are amazing quality, light weight and fashionable.

During my time up in CT in March, I realized I had forgotten to bring my glasses and ordered a really cute clear light pink pair on Amazon. The quality was NOT THE SAME! The quality was very poor, they hurt my nose and were not the same lens quality as my original ones. Quality does matter here.

Here are a few of my favorite styles from Eye Buy Direct. As well as a few other retailers I’ve heard good things about.
